I am running for Sheriff of McCulloch County and am looking forward to providing new leadership to all the citizens of the county. I would appreciate your support. I retired as a Lieutenant from the Dallas Police Department in 2006 after 30 years. I have 32 years of law enforcement experience and more supervisory and administrative experience than anyone running.
Professional Background
I spent the last 11 years in Dallas in the Vice Section. I have testified in state and federal court on numerous cases and have testified before the State Legislature. I worked in Intelligence/Public Integrity working on career criminals and offenses involving police officers and city employees. I worked as a Patrol Lieutenant in two separate divisions. I supervised the Mounted Unit, Canine Unit, and Explosives Ordnance Unit. I supervised four squads in the SWAT Unit responsible for barricaded persons, crowd control, and worked with the Secret Service on Presidential visits. I also supervised the Central Investigative Unit working on thefts, burglaries, and individual robberies. I also have experience in the Communications and the Report Division.
As a sergeant, I worked in the Communications Division and Central Patrol.
All of these positions required supervision of officers, administrative duties, and budget preparation.
Education - B.S. in Industrial Arts with a Minor in Education, North Texas State Univ.
Licenses - Master Police Officer and Instructor, TCOLE
Specialized Training – Basic Supervision and Command Management; Dignitary Protection; S.W.A.T. School; and numerous TCOLE courses
I am currently on the Rochelle School Board, active in 4-H Shooting Sports, and teach firearms safety and shooting at the Heart of Texas Bible Camp.
